My working career started the day after I left school farming on the local farm. Driving diggers and tractors performing all aspects of agricultural related tasks. Gathering crops to maintaining the land and ditches.
After many years on the land, I took my Father out as a treat to a Land Rover Experience Day, he loved that, and I got to drive as well. This got me an invite to return and after a little training I changed careers from the farm to fill my new role as a Land Rover Experience instructor.
I also got the invite to write blogs and then join a firm selling Land Rover parts.
Working with friends over the Irish Sea at an off-road training centre has led me to open my own training centre back here in England, as well as completing my degree in train the trainer, passing my Lantra instructors course and becoming the only England and Wales instructor to be able to deliver the S.W.O.R.D. course (Severe Weather Off Road Driving)
My personal life took me through Young Farmers and living in a village being very good friends with the farmer’s son my childhood days were spent out in the countryside enjoying muddy fields, lakes and rivers. To be honest not much has changed now I am an adult, you will often find me wild swimming in rivers, lakes or the sea and still enjoy being out in the countryside, walking with my partner, visiting castles and country homes or finding some new swimmable waters somewhere.
One of my hobbies has always been Land Rovers. As an enthusiast I love to drive, maintain, and restore them. This passion I have had from a young age and always wanting to get my drivers licence and be able to drive one myself was my original goal.
Since getting my drivers license I went on to better myself and took the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) test, which I also passed. (2006) But…… that wasn’t enough, so I took myself back to IAM to undergo the Master Advance course.
I passed the masters with distinction in May 2022
