This is my favourite model defender. Fitted with Cooper STT tyres but verything else is standard on her.
The iconic look of a Defender coupled with the Tomb Raider extras makes it a joy to own and drive.
Land Rover only produced a total of 250 Tomb Raider Defenders in either the 90 Station Wagon or 110 Double Cab. All were finished in the Bonatti Grey paintwork, roll cage and roof rack complete with spotlights. Steering guard, Tubular side steps, NAS rear step and 5 bar tread plate protection and light guards were also part of the package. The Tomb Raiders were all on Y registration plates or the new style 51 plates all were MY01 (2001).
According to www.howmanyleft.co.uk there are 43 (out of the original 100) of the 110 Tomb Raiders and 91 (out of the original 150) of the 90 version.
THE WORLD OF THE EXTREME
Let’s first take the Defender 110 Pick-up with double cab, the most resistant 4×4 in the world.
Versatility is pure. Its economical 2.5 litre diesel engine fitted, the Td5, provides the required energy at all times. Equipped with ABS and electronic traction control (ETC). This vehicle is perfectly equipped for the craziest adventures.
Other equipment features: the metal paint in Bonetti Grey with black wing enlargers, the roof of the vehicle colour, the air conditioning, a radio cassette and the 16″ Boost light alloy wheels in Pewter Grey. The effect is truly stunning.
Land Rover’s Special Vehicles department will be giving the final touches: roof rails with gallery, roof mounted expansion lights and various chequer plate protection kits.
